WILDERNESS SOLITUDE

All I know,

he proclaimed

after a walk in the woods—

not the walk of “fame”—

is that your animal emerges

when you seek out

the out-of-mind,

the out-of-channel

solitude

walking strong with

giants imparting

sweet senses—

open to magic

and kissing plants

more deeply

than Lovers’ souls.

When

dancing with Death

or spurned by Lovers

we turn the embers

into Stars.

When our Past is a wildfire

severing Futures,

Dive into

The mountain lake

Licking that fire.

It’s only

a flicker…

Oceans aflame—

Hemp Oil Lighthouses saving

Derelict Ships to come…
